1.4 Version History

Version 2.2 was the first widely used version of the Cloud Fax and Notifications API. The following table summarizes user-visible changes introduced since then, through the 2.6 version documented in these pages.

  • Introduces a new version of UserInfo using namespace http://ws.easylink.com/UserInfo/2017/12. This provides the option of passing additional information in the request, indicating to retrieve minimal user information.

  • Supports site access restrictions based on account settings. An ErrorCode of 2920 will indicate an attempt to use an inappropriate API installation.

  • The length of stored object names was adjusted to current system restrictions that permit longer names.

  • UserInfo will return email as a UserExtensions property in a MIS segment. This is a contact email address from billing account information.

  • Added an option to QueuedDocumentRetrieve to request retrieval of documents for any user under a customer account.

  • Introduces a new version of UserInfo using namespace http://ws.easylink.com/UserInfo/2016/01. This removes restrictions on the Service elements, to allow new services to be supported.
  • All versions of UserInfo may include additional UserExtensions values in the EntityAttributes segment reflecting additional account settings.

  • JobSubmit will not accept requests with an excessive number of attachments.
  • Corrections:
    • MailMergeCoverSheetRetrieve was not returning all mapping fields.

  • JobSubmit now supports an extension that can control the manner in which pullfile attachments are handled.
  • Users with appropriate permissions can use Resend and Resubmit on jobs for other users under the same customer account.
  • UserInfo will return ACCOUNT_TYPE and INVOICE_TYPE as UserExtensions in a EntityAttributes segment, if those values have been set.

  • Introduces a new version of GroupList using namespace http://ws.easylink.com/GroupList/2015/05. This adds UniqueMembers to the request, which can limit redundant information for accounts with many email or fax number aliases.

  • UserUpdate now uses the current password management mechanism by default. An extension has been defined to permit users with specialized access methods to continue to use the older password controls.
  • The SOAP Fault detail message returned when congestion is detected has been changed to be clearer.

  • New versions of UserCreate and FaxNumberAdd that permit new numbers to be allocated that have not already been assigned Enterprise customer groups.
  • Corrections:
    • FaxNumberAdd and FaxNumberRemove did not always use correct aliases.

  • QueuedDocumentRetrieve and QueuedDocumentRelease - new functions.
  • GroupList function now returns aliases and userid for user entities as GroupExtensions values
  • FaxNumberAvailableList now returns a dnisgroup attribute to aid direct selection of DNIS in subsequent account calls.
  • Corrections:
    • JobDocumentTransmit and DocumentTransmit could produce improper XML for extensions
    • JobDocumentTransmit and DocumentTransmit would not return the RequestID header element.

  • TTSCreate supports profile setting for TTS platform
  • Return an actual HTML page for the "browser test" (HTTP GET) of connectivity, instead of a SOAP Fault.
  • Corrections:
    • JobDocumentTransmit and DocumentTransmit could not return TSID
    • JobSubmit did not return ErrorList information when MessageId collided with another user, or when preview for an existing job was not available

  • Accept X.509 certificates issued by CA's other than EasyLink
  • Sign replies to requests that used X.509 certificates, subject to user account settings

  • New schemas and WSDLs for all functions
  • Support selected WSS features to permit use of X.509 certificates and XML signatures for user identification and authentication, instead of providing user id and password.
  • Credit card data is no longer accepted.
  • Correction:
    • Ability to change passwords through UserUpdate restored.
