Quick start to developing API applications : JobSubmit (fax) : Development steps for JobSubmit API to send a fax : 8. Review the results of the job request in the result.xml file.

8. Review the results of the job request in the result.xml file.

If the API submits the job request successfully, the result.xml file contains the status of the action. If the JobSubmit status is OK, the file also contains a <jobid> tag with the name of the domain to which the job was submitted in the <XDN> element (domain name is automatically selected, depending on the type of job) and a job number in the <MRN> element.

Sample Request.xml and Response.xml files are included in the appendix. Request.xml contains the XML file sent to the Opentext API server.

Important: When the status of the JobSubmit action is OK, it means JobSubmit was successful. It does not mean the job itself processed successfully, since jobs can encounter errors during processing. For information about obtaining the status of the job, see “JobDeliveryStatus (detailed job information and its deliveries)” .
