Stage 3: Create a project and add a Web reference

Note: OpenText provides general instructions for MS Visual Studio. It recommends referring to the MS Visual studio documentation installed in your development environment.

To use MS Visual Studio to create and rename a project

1	In MS Visual Studio, create a project.

2	Name the project “FAX” (the same as the Name Space for the sample code).

3	Perform the appropriate action to add a Web reference:

If using Visual Studio 2010 or earlier, on the Project menu, choose Add Web Reference.

For later versions of Visual Studio, on the Project menu, choose Add Service Reference > Advanced > Add Web Reference.

4	In the Add Web Reference dialog box, in URL, type the URL to obtain the service description of the XML Web service you want to access, such as http://ws.easylink.com/JobSubmit/2011/01?WSDL.

5	In Web reference name, rename the Web reference to “EMsgAPI_JobSubmit201101” to match with the sample program.

Note: The URL property for web reference is either static or dynamic. OpenText recommends you set the URL property a “static” to avoid accessing the URL at run time.

6	Click Add Reference to add a Web reference for the target XML Web service.
